An enthusiastic volunteer and generous Newcastle community member, Chris Cull dedicates much of his time helping those in need.

As a board member for a charity organization providing scholarships to disadvantaged children, Chris is now looking to increase his charity work since recently retiring and relocating from Armidale.

And fortunately, thanks to Invest Blue, he has the time and means to devote to such worthy causes.

A long-term client of Steve Sewell’s, Chris is proud to lay claim to being one of Steve’s original charges and laughs that he was somewhat of a ‘Guinea Pig’ for the budding advisor.

“I was there from the start and have followed Steve’s business growth with great respect.”

Having run a successful business management consultancy and held several directorships, Chris said Invest Blue was instrumental in consolidating his super and defining a plan for his future.

“I enjoy going to the gym, yoga, park running, cycling and generally staying healthy. I also like to travel annually, and it’s nice to have the confidence to know my finances are secured well into the future.”

He admits he is still somewhat careful with his money, and over his lifetime was budget conscious, managing his financial affairs to prepare for this stage of life.

“I certainly went backwards during the global financial crisis, but it was very reassuring having Steve’s honesty and transparency guiding me though.”

With five adult children dotted around the globe – one in Sydney, one in New Orleans, two in Newcastle and one in Munich, Chris is pleased to be closer to his Australian based offspring now.

“The move to Newcastle for retirement has been a marvellous one, I’m in a lovely terrace home in Cooks Hill, the suburb of my choice.

“It’s a very friendly community with easy access to everything I need and wish to do.”

“It’s a great feeling at this stage of my life to still have choices and flexibility, and I’m very much looking forward to staying involved in my new community and lending a hand where I can.”
